BMSG(S) will celebrate World Breastfeeding Week (WBW 2008) on 16 August 2008 with the theme

“Going for Gold”

to increase awareness of the need for and the value of providing support to a breastfeeding mother. Just like an Olympic athlete needs support to get the gold medal, a mother requires the same support to achieve the gold standard of infant feeding: the World Health Organization recommends mothers breastfeed their infants exclusively for six months, and provides appropriate complementary foods with continued breastfeeding for two years and beyond. Every mother can achieve the gold standard! 

To begin with, we have Photo Contest. Hurry send it photo of your lovely child before the closing date of 8 August 2008 at 5.00pm. All winners will be invited to go on stage to receive their prizes from the Guest of Honour. Download photo contest poster to share our event with your friends. For those who have business premises or are working in offices, please feel free to put up the poster and invite your friends, family members and colleagues for the contest.

There will be Mass Breastfeeding Session and Talks on that day itself.
