The Breastfeeding Mothers' Support Group Singapore (BMSG) is a voluntary, non-profit organization. Our goal is to share the benefits of breastfeeding and to encourage and support mothers and mothers-to-be to breastfeed their babies.

Our members include mothers, fathers, doctors, nurses and anyone who believes that breastfeeding is the best.

"Going for GOLD" - World Breastfeeding Week 2008

Breastfeeding Mother's Support Group (Singapore) celebrate World Breastfeeding Week 2008 Going for GOLD on 16th Aug 2008, Saturaday 12.30pm onwards, Open to Public, free breastfeeding counselling, For seminar talks and mass breastfeeding, Sign up @ $10 per adult, FREE GOODIE BAG worth $25.

Talk 1
Dr Stephanie Chee on “Why mothers should breastfeed their babies beyond 6months?”
Dr Chee a consultant & lecturer for at the Action Research Academy Pte Ltd, and School of Action Research, Singapore. She is also a trained breastfeeding advisor, had done numerous researches on breastfeeding since 1989 and an associate research supervisor and Doctoral of Philosophy examiner at the University of Sydney, Faculty of Health Sciences (2006 to 2008). Most recently she is the editorial advisory board member, International Journal of Health and Ageing Management (2007 to 2008).

Talk 2
Ms Doris Fok on “What’s wrong with breastfeeding?”
Mrs. Doris Fok is a senior lactation consultant & is the first International board certified lactation consultant in Singapore & Asia.  Internationally, she is a member of La Leche League International (2000-2008) and International Society for Research in Human Milk and Lactation (2006-2008).  She has recently completed a Chinese Handbook on breastfeeding (yet to be published) and is involved with a breastfeeding DVD. 

Talk 3
Dr Yong Tze Tein on “Father’s role in breastfeeding and upbringing of their children”
Dr Yong Tze Tein is a consultant obstetrician and gynecologist with the Singapore General Hospital as well as the President for the Association for Breastfeeding Advocacy (Singapore).

"Back To Work" Workshop

These workshops are aimed at breastfeeding mothers who are currently on Maternity Leave. It will help you prepare and plan for your return to work, and give you practical ideas/tips on how to cope with continuing to breastfeed. The technique of hand expression of breastmilk will also be demonstrated (Babies & maids are welcome but, husbands are not allowed for this "Back to Work" workshop).

Please register early as seats are limited.
