| Phone Counseling | | Manned by trained counselors, we provide phone counseling to support mothers-to-be and new mothers on breastfeeding-related matters. Our counseling hotline is opened to members and non-members. Our counselors attended to an average of 3,500 calls annually. | | | | Workshops | | Since 1998, BMSG has been holding workshops for mothers and mothers-to-be. We started off with the "Back-to-Work" & "Breastfeeding" Workshops in the homes of our counselors. These proved to be very popular with the increasing numbers of mothers interested in continuing breastfeeding even while working. The casual small-group environment made it easy for mothers to interact and for counselors to share practical tips from their own experiences. Many mothers also enjoyed the opportunity of being able to meet up with other breastfeeding mothers like them. As such, from 1999 onwards, BSMG has expanded on the topics and involved the participation of fathers and caregivers. You can find out more about our workshops under events corner. | | | | Nursing Product Sales | | As a value added service to our mothers, we carry a range of nursing products in our office. Do drop in to view them and try them out, with the help of our office administrator. Proceeds from sale of products go towards promoting breastfeeding in Singapore. You can find out more about the nursing product we have under Shopping section. | | | | Mothers' Gatherings | | Our counselors organized informal monthly gatherings of mothers, mothers-to-be, fathers, babies and more in homes, community centres or places of interest. Kindly send us an email (under contact us section) to register your interest, as we'll keep you posted on future activities. | | | | Quarterly Newsletter "Keeping Abreast" | | To keep our members updated on breastfeeding, we produce a quarterly newsletter called "Keeping Abreast". | | | | Annual World Breastfeeding Week Celebration | | BMSG celebrates World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) in Singapore with 120 countries all over! The WBW is the greatest outreach vehicle for the breastfeeding movement. Our aims are to increase the public's awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding and at the same time, encourage more mothers to breastfeed their babies, even if they have to return to the workforce. |
